A little bit about my sculptures
My most recent sculptures are original semi-abstract bronzes. The 2012 sculptures include some figurative work and some with no specific referent. The older work has all been figurative. They are sized perfectly for display on a small table or pedestal, are one-of-a-kind, and available for purchase as noted.
To me, creativity is all about making novel connections and inferences. It requires seeing things afresh, leaning as little as possible on preconceptions and preformed expectations. When I sculpt, I try to force myself to let go of the familiar as much as possible—trying to create images that do not come automatically to mind. I also enjoy weathered and rustic looking forms that look natural, or like time has taken its toll. These aspects come together in my sculptures.
